I like to write when I get inspiration, sometimes very late at night!

I love writing, and I want to share my work with the world!

What inspired you to create this book

The magical optical illusion on the chalky cliffs of The Isle of Wight in England known as "The Isle of Wight Polar Bear"

What genre do you write in and why did you choose it

I am a Children's Fiction Author, and I specialize in Middle Grade/Young Adult fiction.

How much research did you do on your book? (If it applies)

A fair amount. I drew on real life experience in my childhood and adulthood to create the settings and the characters, although both are fictitious!

How do you think you have evolved creatively from when you first started writing until now

I play more to my strengths, and have more daring than when I started out! my characters tend to lead me and write themselves!

What was the hardest thing about writing this book for you

I felt a deep nostalgia for Southbourne, where I used to live.

What was the most rewarding

Seeing kids enjoy my stories, which I read live from time to time!

If you had to start over, is there anything you would do different

I would have started writing books at a younger age.

How have you evolved from when you first started writing until now

I know what works. I scrap anything I don't like, and I am ruthless at "chipping away" so that I keep things simple.

Are you a planner type person, or do you prefer to dive right in when you write

A diver, with a little bit of forward planning, too!

How much dialogue do you have with your readers

I like feedback, and I am happy to say it is good.

Do they influence your writing

I like to be responsive and adjust my approach or write what kids are interested in.

Do you recommend being a part of a support groups to help you with your writing

Yes!

Do you work with an editor If so, how much input do they have

My publisher edits my work. He brings out the best in me and encourages me to develop ideas.

Was there anyone in your past that you think influenced your writing

Many people have encouraged me - too many to mention here.

Get out there and meet people!

Walk away from what I am doing, and return when I have had time to process things better.

Suzy was inspired to write this book when she sighted "The Isle of Wight Polar Bear" a magical optical illusion that locals in Bournemouth, England, all know about! The story of Suzy's inspiration fro her series has made front page news in The isle of Wight County Newspaper Online, and world-famous animator of Michael Bond's "Paddington Bear," and Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories," Sheila Graber, has read "Snugs The Snow Bear," too, and praised the activities of Suzy's characters. They may well collaborate in the future! A British author, Suzy now resides in Florida with her American writer husband, not far from Daytona Beach.
