Synopsis

Those unknown forces reinstate. Golanthia begins to thunder!

  • Does one run from that which they fear?
  • What is survival if one does not survive whole?
  • Trials shape us all: For good-For bad-Forever!

The squeaky old house is no barrier when it comes to the wilderness. The savage and refined have clashed since the dawn of time. Shocked and yet thrilled, The Duchess, for all her imperial feline posturing, hesitates. She is tormented by demons of her past and an all consuming need to control.

Encouraged by the most unlikely of creatures, The Duchess embarks upon an uncertain quest to discover the whereabouts of her old companion and perhaps something unknowingly lost. Away from the lushness of the squeaky old house, boldly facing the barbaric realities of the wilds, she learns more about herself than thought possible.

Abruptly becoming lost, little Binder unpleasantly finds himself in the yard. Roaming throughout Golanthia, stumbling upon friends and foes along the way threatens his previous reflection of reality. Through a paw full of un-expectant occurrences, he glimpses a previously undiscovered side to his mouse personality. Utterly lost, rigorously clashing with those unknown forces for survival, any recollection of the squeaky old house quickly fades.

A masterfully crafted and intensely spellbinding account of how a little house mouse, relentlessly pursued by his wicked nemese, unwittingly goes far too far. A magnificent chronicle displaying the power of storytelling, introduces a curious group of “critters” going beyond the impossible, discovering trust and what friendship often requires! Courageously facing the harrowing unknown with their world elaborating about them forever changes their lives.

Intensity of understanding is received through experiences which shatter ones tenuous grasp on reality. Readers of all ages will wholeheartedly welcome this delightful tale and refreshing insights into that which was only thought known.

Golanthian Quips

  • “Crusaders of Golanthia is very visual – the critters seemed alive”- Gina
  • “No one writes like this anymore – it made me tingle” – Jane
  • “I could hear the wind blowing and see the grasses waving-they were not even mentioned”- Bob

Facing fears

Watching the light from above silently filtering through the dust of his passage, little Binder is sitting lost and all alone in the dark. Tears are flowing down his furry cheeks, creating slight mud balls around his eyes, as his quivering sniffs go unheard. With the darkness of the wall swallowing all sounds and stealing all sight, he rests his chin in his little paws, taking a long sighing breath. Squinting desperately, impossibly trying to see, he is praying to those unknown forces that the dancing shadows are friends coming to help

Perseverance

Highlighted in a strobe effect caused by the flashing skies, amidst any real or imagined dangers from the darkness, our valiant crusaders realize that shelter and safety are luxuries seldom afforded by the wilderness. Moving stealthily through the covering foliage, frantically battling the diverse elements of the yard, our heroic band of critters learn that when it comes to survival, one must consider probabilities not possibilities.

Do you write full time or part time

riginally, writing a book was not the intent. Then it became necessary to see if it was accomplishable. Eventually, it became a tool to show the spawn (affectingly referring to the kids, included in book 3, as the locus, because they seldom leave any food behind) that anything can be accomplished if one has a passion and sets their minds to it Writing is passionate, it is draining, and it is a lot of work. It is also one of the surest ways of self-exploration. Reaching above and beyond is always a challenge. Success, most often, can be measured in many different ways. However, with most things in life, those having any real meaning, some simply must be earned G.E.Graves, a natural storyteller, was born, raised, and lives in Minnesota. Having traveled most of the United States, parts of Canada, Europe, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean, he has gathered experiences along the way that have been woven into stories for all ages. Reading has always been a great joy. It continues to be so to this day Writing now fills most of my time. Honestly, as a reader, I would never have guessed all that goes into the craft of writing. Had I known before hand, I may not have done so. However, as with most things, once I have begun, I tend to stick with it like a bulldog There are many things in life that one must experience firsthand to understand. There is no replacing actual participation. However, with thoughts carefully expressed through words, we may learn through the experiences of another. This, in my opinion, is what writing is about. Not to replace life and living, but to enhance it

How do you structure your day when you write

Usually the only structure is getting up early in the morning and sip my coffee and write :)

Why do you write? (Example; For fun, to make extra money, a personal experience you want to share with the public)

I have to write, always had to, have been doing it in one form or another most of my life.

What are you working on right now / or your most recent work

Working on the second book in the Squeaky Tails series "The Land Beyond" coming out next year.

What inspired you to create this book

It is difficult to say what inspired this book. Actually it was not intended to be a book. I was writing emails to a friend (just for a laugh) Then the book began writing its self.

What genre do you write in and why did you choose it

I wonder whether the genre choose the writer :)

How do you think you have evolved creatively from when you first started writing until now

oh, hugely. the leaning curve of all the required parts .. its was monumental.

What was the hardest thing about writing this book for you

Finishing it . Sticking to untill it complete.

What was the most rewarding

Knowing that i have the ability to do it .. it is very self satisfying

If you had to start over, is there anything you would do different

go back to collage and learn marketing :)

How have you evolved from when you first started writing until now

I have become more in touch with myself. Originally i wrote poetry. Poetry requires one to feel the words out :)

Are you a planner type person, or do you prefer to dive right in when you write

No doubt I'm a dive right in person:)
