As full-time as I can make it.
I try to do the creative stuff in the morning and then fit the business/promotional stuff in in the afternoons and around the edges.
It is something I was born to do.
I am working on book 4 in my Heirs series. This one focuses on Declan's story, set during the same year that the first 3 books occupy.
It was to do with coincidences and their consequences.
I don't think my books fit completely into specified genres. They contain romance, but with suspense and mystery, tied to family drama and saga. When I have to, I nominate myself as a romantic suspense writer.
Tons. Absolutely tons. My books are set in 1985 and I had to make this as real as possible. I have been praised for my authenticity, so the research was worth it.
I think I have been developing more in my technical skills, structuring the novel, POV and so on.
Believing in myself and my writing and that it was worth putting out to the public.
Knowing that people actually enjoy the series and are reading it.
I wouldn't have held back for so long, I would have just gone for it.
Hopefully I'm not evolving into a dinosaur :)
I started the series by diving right in. But now, on my fourth book, I have planned the outline and I do find that helps on days when you're feeling mentally challenged.
As much as they want - I am always open to my readers.
Of course! I take their input on board and am constantly re-examining my writing and (hopefully) honing my skills. I don't want to write in a vaccuum, so my readers are very important.
It depends on your personality I think. Some people thrive on support and others are more comfortable going it alone.
I have worked with two editors on this series, but found their input wasn't exactly at the level I wanted. I will be looking for another editor for book 4.
Keep track of everything you do. If you find something works - do more of it! Learn as much as you can from other who are more successful in your genre.
They seem to work well for ebooks, but obviously, as a writer, it depends what stories you have inside that need to come out.
As long as the string you need to tie it all up.
I think you just have to put yourself out there and ask. I'm only just starting to get reviews on Amazon now, but they have been great.
Have more confidence and belief in your dreams. Just go for it.
Oh, where do I start? I just have too many to list!
Yes I have book trailers for books 1 and 2, they can be viewed on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIaCH_rJfQzVOJUAbBU_FZAUnfortunately I haven't found they are viewed much so I don't think they contribute a great deal to getting people to my books. But every little bit helps, and they were a lot of fun to make.
I'm working on book 4 in my Heirs series, titled Romancing Jazz. It is Declan's story, still set in 1985, but as events impacted him.
If I'm alone I'll throw a tantrum. If I'm in public I'll try not to throw a tantrum.
If writing is something you were born to do, don't let anyone stand in your way. And every day keep writing and learning how to write better.
